Demonstration of folding bike by Citizen Bike

Before riding your Citizen Bike for the first time, familiarize yourself with the bicycle's folding and unfolding procedures. With a little practice, you should be able to fold up your Citizen Bike quickly and easily.

To unfold your new Citizen Bike, follow these steps:

Remove your Citizen Bike from the box. Remove the protective packaging.

When folded, your Citizen Bike should store the handlebars between the wheels.

Tighten the quick release latch by pressing down the lever firmly.

Swing frame together. Make sure the quick release bolt snaps into the frame folding box.

Swing your frame together. Make sure the quick release bolt snaps into the frame folding box.

Swing handlebar post up to vertical. Make sure the quick release bolt snaps into the handlebar folding box.

Tighten the quick release latch by pressing down the lever firmly.

NOTE: This lever should be tightened facing down as pictured to avoid interfering with your legs while pedaling.

NOTE: You can adjust the tension on the quick release levers by loosening or tightening the lever mechanism itself.

Do not overtighten.

Swing handlebar post up to vertical.

GOTHAM: Make sure the quick release bolt snaps into the handlebar folding box.

MIAMI/TOKYO: Align the tab on the locking lever with the notch in the top of the handlebar stem.

To avoid damaging your folding bike, make sure not to stretch or tangle the brake or gear cables.

[1] Raise handlebars to an appropriate height and [2] tighten quick release lever to lock in place.

MIAMI/TOKYO (above): Lift the lever to vertical and rotate the locking hook around the locking lever.

GOTHAM (left): Tighten the quick release latch by pressing down the lever firmly.

Release quick release lever to adjust seat post height. Be sure not to raise too high, beyond the safety line.

Raise handlebars to an appropriate height and tighten quick release lever to lock in place.

You can adjust the tension on the quick release levers by loosening or tightening the lever mechanism itself as below. Do not overtighten.

Release quick release lever to adjust seat post height.

Raise the seat post to a comfortable height and tighten the quick release lever to lock in place.

Adjust the tension on the quick release, if necessary.

Do not raise the seatpost beyond the safety line.

To avoid serious injury, before you ride make sure that the seat and seatpost are securely fastened so they won't slip.

Attach pedal assembly to crank and tighten in a counter-clockwise motion with attached circular tightening tool.

To unfold the pedals, lift pedal step upward.

Keep fingers clear of pedal step interior to avoid serious injury.

Make sure that both pedals are securely locked into place before riding to avoid possible serious injury.

Congratulations! Your Citizen Bike Folding Bike is ready to ride!

To fold your bicycle, follow these instructions in reverse. However, you do not need to remove the pedal to fold your Citizen Bike. Removing the pedals is only needed if space restrictions necessitate it.

Practice the folding and unfolding process and it will become easy and intuitive. Now you can enjoy the additional possibilities of folding convenience with your new Citizen Bike.
